Who are we?
Moorpark Field Hockey is a volunteer-based organization, chartered under the Field Hockey
Federation Inc, a California non-profit 501©3 organization. We are also a member of the U.S.
Field Hockey Association.
What's our Mission?
Our organization's mission is to introduce the sport of field hockey to youth and adults alike, to
provide the best in field hockey coaching in order to develop participants' talents and skills,
and to encourage and assist participants in becoming members of the U.S.Field Hockey
Teams. Moorpark Field Hockey strives to develop and maintain an infrastructure consisting of
parents, volunteers and field hockey enthusiasts to organize teams, and to participate in field
hockey leagues, tournaments and clinics. Our philosophy is to administer in fairness to all our
membership and to make their participation enjoyable.
Where are the facilities located?
The pitch (or Field Hockey Sports Center) is located at Moorpark College in Moorpark,
California. The pitch is a water-based Stadia Turf synthetic, FIH-compliant field, which was
commissioned in 1995 with the help of United States Men’s Field Hockey Foundation.
Update: the pitch was completed replaced in early 2007.
Who can participate?
Boys, girls and adults of all skill levels are invited to join. The age/skill divisions for our Club
are: Under-9; Under-12; Under-16; Under-19, Adult Recreational; Adult Social and Adult
Competitive.
When does the Spring 2008 Season begin and end?
The season for the Youth and Adult D4 divisions begins Saturday, Feb 9, and for the Adult
divisions Sunday, Feb 10. The season runs through Sunday, May 11.
How do I register?
Download and print out the Registration, Liability waiver, and Volunteer forms. Fill them out and
send it in with the appropriate fees to Moorpark Field Hockey.
What equipment do I need in order to play?
You'll need the following:
o Hockey stick -- If you don't have one , we have loaners available until you're able to
purchase one.
o Mouth guard -- Mandatory for all youth players and STRONGLY recommended for adult
players.
o Shin guards -- Mandatory for ALL players.
o Athletic shoes with a good tread (cross-trainers are good).
o Black athletic shorts -- They need to be solid black, no white piping down the sides.
Note: The team jersey and socks you'll purchase from the club when you register for the
league.
